Here is my post. Hooray! I now have a scale (on loan from Mom) and a flat and convenient place to put it. I'll be honest, the only thought I've been giving to food lately is "Gee, I won't be able to eat this in a little while." Although, I haven't decided when "a little while" is. One would think we would have picked a less hectic time to start losing weight, what with you and a baby and me and moving, but I suppose the moral to that story is that there is no convenient time to start a weight loss program.
Although one motivation is that now that I have a little extra money to spend on clothes, I would like those clothes to fit me and look nice.
And now, I'm trying to kick a cold. It couldn't have come at a less opportune time, especially now that I can't just opt to sleep through class. I suppose that now "sleep through class" would mean "get fired from job." Oh well, here's to DayQuil and a healthier immune system!

Well, if you'd like to join with me in a hard-and-fast start date, I will be officially starting my exercise and healthy eating after I get the go ahead from my doctor at my 6 week check-up, which is on October 16. Well, I'll admit that I'll probably start weaning myself off of sweet treats before that, but that'll be when I start working up to greater walking distances, riding our stationary bike, etc. Feel free to start before then, but that is my drop-dead-deadline. In the meantime, my primary goal is to be able to comfortably button the button on my transition pants (I'm almost there!) and to not gain any weight.
Is this still the starting date, even after your poor back? If so, I think that sounds like a delightful starting date. I too, will probably start "unofficially" before that, eating slightly better, and walking slightly more, but I think that will be good. And, if not, I probably still ought to start out then. Those dishes are calling my name.
Heck yes it's the starting date! My back is good as new. I think we need to make this a public blog so I can follow it in my google reader. If we don't want people to follow it, we'll just not tell them about it.
Done and done.
